Writing is something I take a lot of joy from. There are few better feelings than when you've been wrestling with a sentence for what seems like an age, only for just the right words to come cascading out of your fingertips. A carefully crafted tapestry that you know will ellicit precisely the right response from your reader. It's strangely intoxicating.

What I've noticed though is that my writing has often been to fulfill some kind of externally driven purpose: a speech competition, a university assignment or more recently, a client deliverable.

While these purposes are usually worthwhile, its meant that I've often waited for the next external stimulus to occur to prod me into writing something meaningful.

My aim with this page is to create more internal momentum in my writing, posting a small piece every few days. I'm curious to see what I'll end up writing about. I can't guarantee it will all be good, but I promise to write about topics I am passionate about and that I think are worth reading about.

This post, I hope, will be the start of a good habit - unlike most habits you seem to pick up during a month long lockdown.

I hope you enjoy it.
